EAM Seasons Greetings

Hi Everyone,

2016 has been an extremely fruitful year for Elite Advanced Materials Sdn Bhd (EAM). Our mission statement is ‘to redefine industry by delivering sustainable products and services through creation and technology’. In this eventful 12 months, not only we have delivered high quality and good valued solvents to end-users in Malaysia, we have also helped various companies in improving their applications and processes. Having gained their trust as a trustworthy manufacturer, we have seen our loyal customer base growing.

EAM kickstarted 2016 with an official establishment of the company in January with the operation office and production plant at Rawang, Selangor. The team has expanded three folds since and more than 90% of the team are from technical backgrounds such as Engineering and Science.  As part of the company’s effort in knowledge transfer, we have taken students and graduates from both local and overseas universities as part of their industrial experience program. Examples are Massey University (New Zealand), University of Nottingham (UK), Bath University (UK), University of British Columbia (Canada), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL).

We see the importance of an intimate alliance between Universities and Industries in research and education. Only when academic research understands the needs from industries and industries truly appreciate the research capabilities in universities, we can optimise the research impact from the limited resources we have. We are working closely with UMP and UTP in this aspect and has successfully setup a project with UTP. We hope for more collaboration with industries and academic institutions in the new year.

Over the causeway (Singapore), EAM has sponsored a networking event - Biotech 2020 Mixer - hosted by Biotech Connection Singapore (BCS) and ASTAR (Singapore). The networking session at A*StartCentral Block 79 @ Ayer Rajah was attended by over 50 professionals from the Tech Transfer, Finance, Legal and Start-up leaders in the biotech community. It was assuring that we have the their support for the vision of having our own chemical reagent manufacturer in South East Asia.

This year, the focus has been in two areas. First, developing and optimising the process routes for our core high purity solvents and second, entering the market. Currently we have successfully scale up 10 types of solvents in different grades and have another 4 in the pipeline for 2017.  Introducing our products to the community here has its up and down but generally positive. We hear and understand the needs of our end-users and have reinforced our focus in how we serve our customers. We strive to enhance the experience of the end-user by providing a quality but valued products and to provide technical advisory when needed.

We understand our challenges ahead and goals have been set for 2017. In product development, we will expand our range of solvents and grades so to better serve, specifically, biotechnology and electronic companies. We also have plans to produce chemical reagents and standards responding to the needs of our customers.

We welcome any feedbacks or request as only when we know then we can improve.

To Good Science and Better Engineering.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
